Recent
Events |
|
I'd be a pretty poor editor if I didn't recognize and make some
comment on recent events. Although these events had no
physical effect on SpinDizzy, it certainly made us think.
Some of us came to SpinDizzy from places other than the U. S.
and they too are shocked and disheartened by the attacks.
It's been a topic of discussion and contemplation for us
all.
Although how we should react has been a topic of debate, all
agree that it was a cowardly and mindless act, and has made us realize
how tenuous our belief in the safety and sanctity of America
is. I could add some 'Liberty and justice standing
together God bless America' stuff, but I think those who need
that support have gotten plenty of it. I think now we
should let those who survived and the families of those who
didn't grieve quietly and make their own peace with what has
happened.

Weekly
Survey |
|
Argon
asked in this week's survey, "I'm doing a survey to be
published in @Action News. Who on SpinDizzy, other than
yourself, has the best sense of humor?"
Dellway chrrphisses,
"Austin. No bribery was ever involved." |
Kendra yips,
"Well, my second choice would be me, but Maxl's
pretty sharp on wit. I'd
say he's a strong forerunner of humor." |
Royce chirrs,
"Could be Findra. She didn't seem too upset about
Flutterz and I talking about using her for crayfish bait
last night. She thought we were kidding. Though
Austin came to mind first, but unfortunately most of the
time I have no idea what he's talking about, but pretty
sure it would be funny if I did. |
Gilead chirps,
"I guess Boki. He might be a laughing gull. In any
case, eating fish causes a good sense of humor. :-) |
PatchO'Black mews,
"Yes. I pick Austin." |
Reiter says,
"Actually, I'm going to have to go with Morty. Yes
sure he's evil and all, but he's funny as heck
nonetheless." |
Mavra says,
"Well, I am not sure if I have the best sense of
humor, but I think that Morticon's pretty funny with all
of those 'schemes' to take over SD." |
Stars'_Pyre
telempathy-sings, "I searched my logs for laughs and
giggles, I would say that Ping tops the charts, followed
by Cobalt, both primarily for contextual humour, and then
Boki and Gast for one-liners, like, respectively, "Oh
ho! Is is twenty five centaurs to the quartet!", and
"PING LIKES TO MAKE PIZZA, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN,
AND I THINK YOU DO."" |
Gino signs "I am
not one to ask..I'm not intimate with many furs
her...However I do think that Lavender has a deliciously
odd sense of humor." |
Eris says, "Maxl.
^.^" |
Tarka blinks...
"Wots a sense of humor? Hummm.... Morticon." |
Mouser hisses,
"Well, I think I'd have to vote for Morticon. He's
one of the few folks here who really tries to make this
place funny."Suri raises an eyebrow. "He also
signs Mouser's paycheck..."Mouser hisses, "I get
a paycheck?" |
Gina_Doberman says,
"I'd say Austin Dern, but only cause I know him from
FM!" |
Rown says,
"well, there's no doubt in my mind who has the best
sense of humor here. It's Morticon, because every plan he
makes to overthrow Spindizzy always becomes a comical
fiasco. :-)" |
AlexRaccoon speaks,
"Morticon as far as I can see. Or me. :>" |
Suri says,
"Probably Max. Our senses of humor are very
compatible, I think." |

Bunny
Escapes Becoming Fish Food |

Findra, local bunny, found herself being invited on a fishing
trip along with Royce, local raccoon. Findra found Royce's
remarks concerning how crayfish and bass liked bunnies, and how
the fishing trip would be a great success intriguing,. Royce
urged Findra not
to tell anyone she was going with him, and to be sure to come
alone. When Findra asked why, Royce told her too many
folks would scare the fish away. Findra soon decided to
decline the invitation when Royce slipped and mentioned that the
big fish liked bunnies as bait!

Argon,
local centaur, embarrassed himself in the Rose Garden
Friday. While chatting with folks there, Argon was
watching the battery powered TV he has in his pocket. He's
got a lot of stuff in that vest he wears. He was
commenting on a program where the choir was singing The Battle
Hymn of the Republic. Argon, in a some what excited manner,
expressed joy that they were singing the anthem of 'The South',
as he calls it. He always capitalizes 'The South', he is
quite proud of being a southerner. He can tell you all
about how he is not proud of parts of it's history, but is proud
of it's hospitality, relaxed attitudes, etc. Ask him about
it sometime.
Argon, proud southerner that he is found himself embarrassed
when Suri, local lemur reminded him that the anthem of the
Confederacy was 'Dixie'. Argon is preparing for brain
surgery later this week to improve his memory. |

Guidelines and
Procedure for Submitting Articles |
|
Submitting a story
or artwork for @Action News is easy! Just send it to newspaper@spindizzy.org,
or qmail or page Argon about it.
Most any type of story or article will be excepted.
Generally, we'd prefer things that aren't out and out lies or
flames about other folks, and have a basis in the reality of
SpinDizzy. The things reported don't have to have actually
happened, (Any more than anything that happens here does.) but
make sure you don't overstep the social boundaries and rules of
interaction that we have. These are pretty broad
guidelines, but we expect good sense to apply.
Thanks!
