Cye Asked To Act As Sherriff

Sherriff Cye catches some TV theives. With the recent increase in criminal activities on SpinDizzy, it was determined that someone with both maturity, and presence was needed to enforce the loosly written laws of our community. Cye, local 50 foot Vixen was asked by Adara, local morphic Cat and Judge, to act as Sherriff for SpinDizzy.

Cye, who's calm, quiet, even tempored personality was thought perfect for the job was recommended by Argon, local Centaur. A general survey of the other folks in the Rose Garden agreed, and Cye accepted the position.

Sunni, local Gummi Bear, who enjoys playing Sherriff, was not forgotten. However with her youth and inexperience with actual law enforcent she has been given the position of 'Sherriff emeritus' and will continue to help protect SpinDizzy.

Adara is accepting candiates for additional deputies to assist when Cye is off duty. If you're interested, contact Adara.

Part Time Ghosts

Kinsor looks 'inside' Argon. After a discusion of what they might do if they were ghosts, Austin, local Coati and Head Wiz, gave Kinsor, local Bat and Terra, local Minky, bracelets that when turned a certain way would make them 'ethereal', or ghosts.

Terra, sitting on Argon, local Centaur's, Equine back, was reluctant to use hers, but Kinsor was anxious to give it a try, and did so by becoming a 'ghost' and swiping his wings through Argon's torso. Argon noted that it felt cold when Kinsor did this. Kinsor, hoping to help Argon, stuck his head in Argon's Equine chest and reported that. 'Everything looks fine in there.' There was some question as to how one tells what looks 'normal' inside a Centaur.

As of press time, no further uses of the bracelets have been reported. But, as one turns invisible when a ghost, it's hard to know for sure.

Getting Around In Style

Butterfluff boards the bus.We have a bus system. Type 'bus', then 'destination'. Getting off the bus is trickier -- you have to 'r' [request] <destination>, (use the first three letters of your destination) then 'o' to get off -- unlike most muck transportations, it doesn't dump you off automatically.

Street luge-ing is fun, but works a little differently. It uses the same destination list as thebus, but you luge by typing "luge <destination>". And you arrive right away.

Enjoy!

Weekly Survey

Argon doing the survey.Argon told folks, "I'm doing a survey to be published in @Action News. The question this week is, 'If you had to create a completely new character totally different from any you've ever played, what would it be?'

  • Butterfluff says, "Human?"
  • Austin says, "I think I'd stretch a little and try playing a toon squirrel."
  • Gilead ponders a giant Tod? Hmm...
  • Adara purrs, "A bad guy. I've tried being one before, but I always get reformed =)"
  • Tarien -- I'd be a daemonwood. It'd be handy to be able to photosynthesize when you're hungry
  • Findra) -- News survey - Hmm. I think I'd like to be a red panda, because they have such pretty markings. And sharp claws. =:)
  • Timesheart -- A Female Human like Barbara Walters (ABC's 20/20). ;)
  • CalicoHeart mews, "I'd be an android like Data!!!"
  • Gino signs "I'd design an unstable psycho.ala JackSalem...most of my cahracters tend to be nice and even tempered."
  • PatchO'Black mews, "Completely unlike me? That would be a character that is stupid, rude, unfriendly, and ugly. However, I think someone else has that character...."
  • Roofus_roo says, "Oh. I've no idea."
  • Cye says, "gee.. gee A girfafee a very short one ^_^"
  • Tarka says, "Argon: I would create a sissy girl wombat with a liking for sushi. She wears makeup and is very morphic... and speaks only his lissps."
  • Rick says, "I think it would be a Beaver name Barney."
  • Natasha says, "Well, just about every character I've played has been 'different' in some way, whether cartoony or elasticated or otherwise. So I suppose something completely different for me, would be something ordinary and boring. Like a sexy winged dragonvixen, or something."
  • Mavra says, "I would consider something like a dinosaur. Probably an ankylosaur. Definitely un-sexy. Feh."
  • Bob says, "Bwah. I do that all the time, Argon."
  • Tanuki barks, "I already did, though not in the mucks. At a party I got dragged to, the gaming dude handed me a character sheet to play Ironclaw from, which is funny, cos I still don't know how to play. "It made it interesting having to role play from a sheet in front of me that I didn't write though, and because of that my answer is that I'd be Tempest the Bat."
  • Gilead chirps, "I'd be a giant biomechanical...um... thingie. Scrupulously elegant and polite, but...um...a thingie. And far and away the biggest thing on the MUCK."

Beauty Is In The Eye...

Writing a letter.Dear Editor,

How come the art work in @Action News varies from usally pretty crummy to rarely not eye-poppingly bad? With all the money you make selling these papers and all the ads in it, you ought to be able to hire someone who can at least draw a raccoon a straight line.

Art C. Ritic

Dear Art,

Although to the casual reader it may look as though @Action News is a gold mine, in reality the costs of producing and publishing the paper are quite expensive.

Not only must we pay for the paper, ink, repair and maintenance of the presses, staff, reporters, film, pencils, paper, cameras, and pay offs to OSHA and local officials, recent lawsuits concerning one of our reporters and a local Squirrel's Winter stash have resulted in us running at a deficit.

@Action News would welcome your talents if you wish to contribute them. Please include a copy of your criminal record and drug tests with your portfolio.

Argon,
Editor, @Action News

Guidelines and Procedures for Submitting Articles

Submitting a story or artwork for @Action News is easy! Just send it to newspaper@spindizzy.org or qmail or page Argon about it.
@Action News is published weekly on or after 12:01 AM Eastern Time on Sunday. Most any type of story or article will be accepted. Generally, we'd prefer things that aren't out and out lies or flames about other folks, and have a basis in the reality of SpinDizzy. Things that occur in public areas are fair game. The things reported don't have to have actually happened, (any more than anything that happens here does) but make sure you don't overstep the social boundaries and rules of interaction that we have. These are pretty broad guidelines, but we expect good sense to apply.

Thanks! Argon, Editor @Action News
